Who is Dr. McLean Sheperd?

Dr. Sheperd is a dermatology veteran with ten years of private practice experience in the Charleston area. After earning her undergraduate degree at the University of Virginia she attended medical school at the Medical University of South Carolina where she graduated as Valedictorian. She completed her dermatology residency and a fellowship in dermatopathology at MUSC, and is board certified in both specialties.
What is Integrative Dermatology?

Integrative dermatology uses a fusion of conventional and alternative modalities to stimulate the body's natural healing potential. Considering the unique physiology of each patient, Dr. Sheperd is concerned with dietary, environmental, emotional and hormonal factors and their effects on a patient's skin.

What type of skin conditions does Dr. Sheperd typically treat?

Dr. Sheperd treats patients with a variety of skin, hair and nail conditions including inflammatory conditions, infections, allergic/immunologic conditions, and hormonal issues. She also diagnoses and treats skin cancers and non-cancerous growths. She sees patients of all ages from newborns to centenarians.
